On 2-1-2012 at about 4:35 p.m., the Knox County Sheriff’s Office was requested to meet with the Verdigre Fire Department five miles west, two miles north and one-quarter mile east of Verdigre, NE in reference to a grass fire. This is a message about the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament. As of now, because of the storm on the eastern side of the Conference, the games scheduled for tonight have been postponed until Monday night, same times and still at Hartington.
Due to potential freezing rain, snow, and wind later this evening, the Winside Speech meet scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed until further notice.
Due to impending weather, the Junior high games scheduled for today over in Creighton have been cancelled until further notice. Creighton High School team moved their game to this afternoon which conflicted with the Junior High game scheduled.
Normally by this time of year we are so tired of winter we hope the groundhog brings good news. This year, however, I hope we continue to have a winter like we have had. The groundhog did see his shadow and means six more weeks of winter. With temps this week feeling more like spring [...]
