Knox County Sheriff’s Report

Knox County SheriffOn June 28, 2010, a report was received from Jason List, of List Construction, Yankton, SD, that sometime during the weekend of June 26th and2 27th, someone stole various construction materials and tools from a construction site west of Verdigre.  The construction site belonged to Greg Johnson, Verdigre.  Items taken included a number of sheets of OSB sheeting, 2X4 studs, nails and a ladder.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle belonging to Cindy Betten.  Her 1988 Chevrolet Suburban had been sitting on the south side of Highway 12, at the intersection of 539th Ave, south of Lindy, with a flat tire.  She went to replace the tire on July 4, 2010, and her vehicle was missing.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, or the local Law Enforcement Agency.

On July 5, 2010, a report was received a two vehicle accident on Highway 14, south of Verdigre.  Jamie Pavelka, Verdigre, driving a 2001 Ford, was attempting to make a left turn.  Stanford Taylor, Winnetoon, driving a 2000 Mercury, attempted to pass the Pavelka vehicle.  The two vehicles collided.  No one was hurt in the accident.  The vehicles received minor damage.
