Wausa has lost two very fine young ladies lately.

My heart goes out to the Barney family, I know how difficult it is to loss a loved one to cancer. Carrie was a fighter and a huge inspiration for anyone battling an illness to never give up and never surrender.

She was beautiful both inside and outside and her smile could like up a room. I only knew her for a little while but that was long enough to know that she was someone special. My deepest prayers for Josh and his family.

We can only imagine the love for her family that kept Carrie fighting so long and so hard! Her courage and strength were amazing. She is some one we will never forget and I hope we can all be as strong as she was. Know that we are thinking of all of you and praying for your peace as well.

Josh and Carrie Barney Family,

She has walked where none of us ever wanted to walk. She has faced challenges none of us ever want to meet. She is the true epitome of the underdog, conquering a victory during a tumultous battle that none of us would want to fight. She remains the hero for each of us and yet, all of us stand a bit taller for having been part of her life. Inspiration? Carrie was all of that and more to her family and our community.
