Golden Living Center Recognized

golden_livingWAUSA — Golden LivingCenter Wausa has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of “America’s Best Nursing Homes,” based on the outstanding overall care it provides to its patients. Overall, only 173 nursing homes nationally were selected for inclusion on the list, out of more than 16,000 eligible facilities.

The rankings are based on the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Nursing Home Compare Web site, which analyzes and rates nursing homes on a 1- to 5-Star scale. Nursing homes are rated on their health inspections, quality measures, and staffing, with only the top 10 percent of nursing homes being eligible for the 5-Star rating. The “America’s Best Nursing Homes” list is composed of facilities that receive a combined 14 or 15 Stars in all three categories.

“Our LivingCenter is honored to be recognized as one of “America’s Best Nursing Homes” by U.S. News & World Report,” said Kay Vanness, Executive Director of Golden LivingCenter Wausa. “The quality of care we provide our patients is of paramount importance to us, and is something we dedicate ourselves to daily.”

Under the CMS 5-Star rating system, 5-Star equals “much above average,” 4-Star equals “above average,” 3-Star equals “average,” 2-Star equals “below average” and 1-Star equals “much below average.”
