Congratulations to the following CDE (Career Development Events) contest participants who competed on Wednesday March 3, 2010.  Ten Wausa FFA members attended in several different contests.  All teams received ribbons, but individually only the top half of the participants receives medals or ribbons.  In most of the contests, only the top 25% of the teams qualify.  Results are as follows:

In the Welding contest, individually Ryley Plumbtree won the wire welding division.   The Welding team consisting of Ryley Plumbtree, Zach Hingst, and Jonathon Klintworth did not qualify for state but they did receive a red ribbon.

Ag Sales team including Tanner Schumacher, Morgan Kauth, Michelle Haselhorst, and Hannah Seagren

The Ag Sales Team consisting of Michelle Haselhorst, Morgan Kauth, Hannah Seagren and Tanner Schumacher, placed second which qualifies them for state.

In the Livestock Management contest the Wausa team of Cody Jensen, Aaron Kleinschmit, Ryley Plumbtree, Derrick Frevert, and Dakota Cunningham, did well receiving a blue ribbon, but just missed qualifying for state.  There are no individual ribbons given in this contest because it is a total team effort.

Agriscience team including Alex Cunningham, Trevor Wakeley, Adam Kleinschmit, and Samanthia Key

The Agriscience contest is a general knowledge test designed for first year students, but is not a state qualifying contest.  The Wausa team of Alex Cunningham, Adam Kleinschmit, Samanthia Key, and Trevor Wakeley placed 8th of 19 teams.

Congratulations to all of these participants.  They worked hard to accomplish these achievements and should be proud of their accomplishments.  The Chapter is now ready to enter State competition coming soon April 7-9th.
