The Wausa Speech Team competed in the Crofton Invitational Meet on Saturday, February 6 ending the regular season. Seven other teams from the area competed in the varsity division. Wausa once again did extremely well in competition.
In Varsity competition Laura Claussen, 8th in Humorous Prose; Jesse Lange, 7th in Humorous Prose; Kayla Munter, 5th in Entertainment; Stephanie Banks, 4th in Informative Speaking; Toni Lange, 8th in Poetry; Kyle Schumacher, 4th in Persuasive Speaking; and Leslie Kumm, 2nd in Persuasive Speaking. The OID Team of Nikki Wiegert, Laura Claussen, Kristina Lange, Kayla Munter, and Faith Nelson placed 6th.
Wausa will continue in Conference Competition on Saturday, February 27 in Hartington. The community is invited to come and enjoy the Wausa Speech Team on Monday, March 8 at 7:00 for the Parent’s Open House Night. We will begin performances in the high school library and band room promptly at 7:00 pm.
