2010 Speech - Creighton Medal Winners
The Wausa Speech Team competed in the Creighton Invitational Meet on Saturday, February 6. Seven other teams from the area competed in both varsity and novice divisions. Wausa did extremely well in competition.
In Varsity competition Michelle Haselhorst, 6th in Informative; Leslie Kumm, 4th in Serious Prose and 2nd in Persuasive; Kristina Lange, 6th in Serious Prose; Kyle Schumacher, 5th in Persuasive; Toni Lange, 6th in Poetry; Jesse Lange, 4th in Extemporaneous; and Laura Claussen, 6th in Humorous Prose. The OID team of Kyle Schumacher, Nate Story, Toni Lange, Kaitlyn Rischmueller, and Sarah Banks placed 6th.
In Novice competition Abbi Hegge, 2nd in Informative Speaking; Alex Cunningham, 5th in Informative and 4th in Extemporaneous; Marcus Claussen, 3rd in Serious Prose; and Gavin Friedrich 2nd in Serious Prose.
Wausa will continue its regular season on Saturday, February 13 as Wausa hosts the Wausa Speech Invitational. The community is welcome to come and watch the Wausa Speakers in action. Schedules can be picked up the day of the meet or by contacting Miss Buss at the school.
