On February 5, 2010, a mailbox vandalism report was received from the John Merkel residence. Merkel’s mailbox was intentionally destroyed.
On February 6, 2010, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a horse that had been shot. The owner of the horse, Clayton West, Wausa, found the horse on the rental property where he keeps six head of horses, east of Wausa. Anyone with any information about these or any other crime is asked to contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, or your local Law Enforcement Agency.
On February 7, 2010, a report was received of a one vehicle accident on Highway 12, west of 541st AVE. Georgianna Beaudette, Bloomfield, driving a 1996 Pontiac, left the road and rolled over. Beaudette was taken to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD, by the Lindy Rescue Squad, with injuries. The vehicle was totaled.
