As a final note on the season, I'd like to say this year's football campaign turned out to be very successful. Even before the season started I begged for some of the local folk to step up and help me out, literally, as health concerns were mounting.

From this appeal we got several young men that recognized the need to keep a good program going and to continue building for the future.

I'd personally like to thank Jason Seagren whom gracefully keep the machine rolling for the kids throughout the entire season. Other gents, whom may be called assistant coaches, or I prefer 'persons of interest',
were Scott Bloomquist, Curtis Maertens, Jeff Alexander, David Kleinschmitt, Mike Nissen, Josh Barney, and Luke McGrew.

I wish for their continued success with any of the Mighty Vikes-Youth Sports Teams, which reminds me, 'Better start bouncing the basketballs, boys!' Remember, your competition isn't taking time off to relax!

I hope the players are proud to have been part of this program and wish for each player, parent and coach, continued support and success. Thanks for a great 'ride'.
Go MIGHTY VIKES.

No intention has ever been made to make this a girl/boy issue, but rather, a 'team' issue. They play/win/lose as a team and each member shares in the results and relishes those hallowed memories that will live nearly as long as they do. I'm as proud of those young ladies as I am for any of the others, and I do believe our values are shared by all the other coaches, players, and parents.

It is good that you mention the diversity in the line-up and should go to prove new avenues for future co-ed teams in any sport that the community provides. The parents of these young ladies should be commended as well for their support of the kids and the program. The Mighty Vikes are MIGHTIER because of it....Go Vikes!!!!

The V-8's looked awesome Tuesday night !! But I have to remind Mert, even though this was unintentional, that the V-8's do have 2 girls playing this year. Maybe some people don't know this. These girls are an asset to this team, as well as any boy out there. And I want to commend them for sticking to it and doing a great job !! Let's go ROCK some tigers tonight !! GO VIKES !!

It appears the Mighty Vikes are continuing on their winning ways as I witnessed our team battle the Coleridge boys during a nice snowfall, Tuesday evening. This game was not for the fair-weather fans but our boys managed to generate a heated offense and a burning defense while shoveling their opponent into a 24-6 pile of snow!! Keep up the tough play on Thursday eve at Osmond, which should be a great game.
