Last Friday night the Wausa Lady Vikings opened the 2009 campaign vs. D2 power house and 2008 runner-up Chambers. Chambers, coming in as one of the top two teams in class D2, won the match in 3 sets 25-20, 25-8, and 25-14. “We came out very strong in game one and were tied at 19 a piece before getting sidelined 25-20.
In game two, Chamber’s Montana Libolt got on fire with her jump serve and we got down early and could not recover. In set three, we got down early but got on track late and finished very strong.
We did a nice job early especially for never running this rotation due to a late injury Thursday night to middle hitter Laura Claussen. We knew that we had a lot of new faces on the court, but for three weeks we were very comfortable with our rotation and then in less than 24 hours we had to make a change. This is a good bunch of kids and they will make this transition work and get going on the right track.

Hey, the kids looked great on espn-3 (Josh’s channel!), but I do miss Instant Replay. From my vantage point it appeared that the girls really applied some nice ‘teamwork’ in whipp’n up on those Wildcats. Congratulations!!!
