Youth Football to Start Season

By on August 31, 2009 with No Comments

Wausa Youth FootballThe Mighty Vikes enter this season in hopes of making up for some lost ground last season by having a seasoned 6th grade group set the standards.  Last year we had 2 sixth graders, and this year we have two 5th graders which creates a roller coaster of talent and experience that will certainly affect the ’6th grade-dominant’ competition.

We’ve had a good week of practice and the players have done well going through drills and skills.  Now we’ll step the tempo up and work on the contact end of the game along with the X’s and O’s.

The public is invited to come out and watch our games and have some fun with the kids and coaches (season tickets are free).  There are several coaches listed but due to outside conflicts they’re not all there at the same time, which still leaves our players with 3-4 coaches per practice.  Look for the summaries on game action right here on:  mywausanews.com.
