It’s been a good few weeks, Carrie and I went to Bethesda, MD and came back with some more options. When dealing with Cancer options always seem to be the best. The treatment that we thought was our last shot seems to be the beginning of possibilities to try and cure my beautiful wife Carrie from the Melanoma that has invaded her body.
Carrie was accepted to a clinical trial that will remove the tumor from her adrenal gland and create an immune system that will directly attack any tumors. This will be a week there for the surgery and then we come home and wait 6 to 10 weeks as they grow the new cells. We have decided to wait on this trial and try a treatment approved for her type of cancer.
There is an immunotherapy for Metastatic Melanoma that we have not tried yet called IL-2. This treatment is administered in a hospital and is a 6 day process. Unfortunately she will be very sick through this treatment. We will then be home for a week and back again for another week long treatment.
We leave for Omaha on Sunday where she will have stress tests, another MRI of her brain and we meet with the Doctor. We expect that all the tests will be good and she will be admitted on Tuesday morning to start the treatment.
We continue to get letters, calls and cards from our wonderful community that is thinking about us and most important continues to pray. I never knew what it meant to “feel prayer” but I do now. It feels amazing! Thank you all so very much!

Our prayers for all of your family continue and we have faith that you will find the right treatment soon.
Carrie and Josh, Our prayers continue for you and your family. We know that you will pass through this other bump in the road. Hang in there, the Lord knows what he is doing. We pray the doctors will find the right treatment soon.
Our prayers are with you!! With everyone’s prayers, Carrie’s strength and good spirit you’ll make it through these tough times.
