What a great THANK YOU I owe to you all. The prayers, the gifts, the hugs and positive words I have gotten from all of you mean so much. Being a young mother of 3 children and having Metastatic Melanoma has Not been a depressing time for me. This is why…
My family and friends of my home town of Wausa, my husband Josh’s home town of Bloomfield and the town where my second family lives (Hatch Furniture) of Yankton have made this experience a very eye opening time. I have learned a lot about the love these small communities’s have. The religious cards I receive day by day in the mail bring me closer to the Lord. I have strongly learned to live for today and not to worry about what could happen tomorrow. I now understand why the lord created days. I honestly believe everything happens for a reason. Many disappointing things from the past have now come clear. The different situations have kept me in the perfect home, the perfect community, and the directed me to the perfect job at Hatch Furniture that I just adore (and sincerely can’t wait to get back to)!!! Again… Thank you Lord, Family, and Friends for keeping my family and me happy and positive through all of this. It has kept smiles on our faces.
Also thank you dearly to my very close friends Jenny, Lanell, Kayla, Nichole, Lora, and Shelly for the Benefit of the fun run and walk, bake sale and yummy pancake feed. My Family would like to give a big thank you to all the firemen and community members that spent their morning to help. What a perfect and beautiful day to get everyone together from Wausa and surrounding community’s. Also a Big Thank you to Terry Johnson and Rod Banks for there benefit they had on their Ragbrai Bike Ride. And to Big Red and the Baseball/Softball committee… thank you for thinking of us and taking donations for us.
All of your donations mean so much to us and will hopefully lead us in a Curing direction
Love Carrie, Josh, Brice, Allison, and Carson Barney

I really enjoyed last Saturday and was happy to hear about the money to help you guys out. I also really was hurting on Sunday and Monday after the 5 K. I haven’t really worked out for about 6 years, but I wanted to do it for you and your family to show that you can really do anything, Just like I know that with the love and support of the community and a very positive attitude you can beat this. We wish you nothing but the best.
Kevin… it was fun to see you. You are still as athletic as you always have been. You and me both have felt the greatness of wausa. Thanks for driving up and helping out. Also, you had a great picture in the Norfolk Daily News:)
What a wonderful letter you have written. I admire your faith, courage and attitude. Wish we could’ve been there.
