Two area cyclers are using the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) as a fundraiser for the Josh and Carrie Barney family. They also wish to bring awareness to all cancer victims and survivors. Rod Banks and Terry Johnson of Wausa will make the week-long, 471-mile ride across Iowa beginning July 20 and finish on July 26. A beginning donation of $500 has been committed to date. Residents of Wausa and Knox County are asked to help the Barney family by making additional donations to help them ease the financial burden of Carrie’s recent cancer diagnosis.
