As many of you already know, my beautiful wife Carrie was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Wednesday (5/21/08). She was having some weird “spells” that caused her to be confused and scared and on Wednesday the “spells” came one after another. I took Carrie to the Emergency Room in Yankton and they did an MRI and found a tumor on the front part of her brain.
We were sent directly to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha and there another mass was found above her kidney on the left side. They have taken a sample of the mass above the kidney and we hope to have the results on Tuesday.
The doctors have sent us home for the weekend and we head back to Omaha on Tuesday for more scans. On Wednesday Carrie will have to undergo brain surgery to remove the tumor. After that procedure is done we wait to see what to do about the mass on the kidney.
As you can imagine we are worried. I believe we have very fine surgeons on our side. Carrie is a very strong woman and with her ability to fight and the power of prayer we hope all will turn out. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers over the next 2 months
With all that said it has been a very long couple of days and as a result myWausaNews.com has not had stories updated. I have called on some crack reporters to help continue stories on the website. So please continue to stop back and visit.
Before I go I want to thank everyone who has called, visited, sent flowers and remembered Carrie and our family during this time.

“Though you do no know what the next hours, days or weeks hold, you can be sure that you will not pass through them alone.”
I found this verse on a card and thought of you. Not only is God there every step of the way with you, but our town of Wausa is there, too, sending love, prayers, and all of our support.
Hope you can come home soon, and get back to some degree of normalcy in your life.

Your tragic times have touched our family very deeply. There has not been an hour that has gone by that you have not been in our thoughts and prayers.
